Tampa Bay Thunder Finalists
and former Braden River students participated all summer in a
Drum and Bugle Corps
called the Tampa Bay Thunder. These students performed shows
all summer throughout the East
coast of the United States. They also gave up most of their
summer break to rehearse and perform
with this group. Their finals competition was held in
Rochester, NY on Labor Day weekend. The
Tampa Bay Thunder was the only group to represent the state of
Florida and finished 10th
making them a finalist. Corps from all over the United States
and Canada competed and
these students made history by being the first, first-year corps
to make finals from the state
of Florida. Braden River High School had 16 students
participate in this group which was
by far the most of any high school in the state.
