School Information

- Student Absences Parents or Guardians: Please call 741.3366, Ext. 2021 if your student is absent from school. Leave a message that includes the name of the student, reason for absence, contact phone number, and your name. Written documentation may be required for an excused absence. State policy states that only nine excused absences are allowed per year. School board policy states that three tardies (excused or unexcused) counts as an absence.
“A student who has been absent shall be permitted to make up the work missed, provided that the student makes arrangements with teachers on the first day of return to school. Students are allowed the same number of days to complete makeup as the number of days of their excused absence. (Policy 5.8)
- FOCUS (online student grade book program) is available for guardians. Click for FOCUS Parent Instruction Sheet. Los padres utilizan las siguientes instrucciones y para tener acceso a las notas/ grados y la asistencia de los estudiantes.
- Fill out the Parent Portal Access Authorization form and return it to school. Password information will be available within three school days.

- Medicine at School Students who must take medicine at school must have a doctor’s order on file in the school clinic. Students must not carry over-the counter (ie. Tylenol) or prescription medication with them without the doctor’s note on file.

- Yearbook Arrowhead Yearbook can be purchased from Mr. Funderburke at 941.741.3366, Ext. 2071.
The price for the 2013 yearbook is $60. Go to www.balfour.com to purchase a yearbook online. A few of the 50th Anniversary Southeast High School Yearbook (2010 version) are still available.
- Newspaper Smoke Signals is the school’s newspaper. For advertisement information, contact advisor Randy Funderburke at 941.741.3366, Ext. 2071.
- Community_Service_Form? Southeast students are encouraged to become active club members where they can receive community service hours while participating in community and global outreach activities. Students should complete the Community Service form and return it to Ms. Galla in the Guidance Department.
- Adult Volunteers should contact Ms. Galla, Attendance Secretary, at 941.741.3366, Ext. 2021.
- Student Drop Off Parents: When dropping off your students, please pull as far forward as safely possible so as to not block traffic on 37th Avenue. For safety, do not allow your student to get out of the vehicle on 37th Avenue.
- Scholarship List Most recent scholarship information provided by Guidance.

Testing vouchers may be available in Guidance. Assistance with college and technical school admissions, college testing, scholarships, etc. is available from Career Advisor, Mr. Wooten, or Graduation Coach, Ms. Hartman, in the Guidance Office.

Alumni Information
- Transcript information. Transcripts are kept at the school for only five years before being transferred to the school board support center. Click if you graduated more than five years ago.
For information about prices for transcripts (only graduates from the last five years), federal privacy requirements, and timing, contact the Registrar at 941.741.3366, Ext. 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Class Reunion Information. Southeast High School does not sponsor class reunions nor keep track of alumni. Alumni should contact former classmates, visit online reunion web sites, and check out the SEHS Alumni web page. Contact the SEHS Webmaster with your class’s reunion information.
