Students receiving special services with the need for transitional or alternative placements are referred from the special education office. Students typically have both an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and identified issues in need of intervention before reintegration into the regular school environment.

Qualified students are either mainstreamed into regular alternative education classes or placed in a self-contained setting. Programs include both academic and behavioral intervention.
