Under the Florida Retirement System defined benefit plan, normal retirement is defined as attainment of age 62 with a minimum of 6 years of service or obtaining 30 years of service with the Florida Retirement System regardless of age attained. Under the FRS defined contribution plan, for terminal pay purposes, normal retirement is defined as the attainment of age 55 with 6 years of service or obtaining of 25 years of service in the FRS regardless of age. Early retirement is defined as retirement from the Florida Retirement System any time earlier than the time specified above, after obtaining 6 years of service in the FRS.
