Louise R. Johnson Middle School of International Studies was authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization in July of 2009 to become an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme World School. As the only 100% choice middle school in Manatee County we have a diverse population with an overall enrollment of 550 students. In grades six through eight, students are placed on teams for language arts, mathematics, science, and humanities. Our foreign language department is reflective of the “small” world we live in. We offer Spanish, French and Chinese. Elective classes also support the core academic curriculum. We are proud to be a part of an active school community where learning and teaching are embraced. The faculty and staff of Johnson Middle provide a quality educational experience for our students. We offer the structure, academic environment and caring atmosphere to enable students to be successful. Each student is treated with respect and encouraged to reach his or her highest potential. With the assistance of our PTO, School Advisory Council and numerous other parent volunteers we will help our students to Soar Worldwide.
