Role of the School Counselor
The Developmental Guidance and Counseling Program for the Manatee County Schools is designed to allow for flexibility as school counselors wear many hats. A variety of strategies may be utilized to address the unique characteristics of the school while working for the highest student achievement. School counselors implement programs in the academic, social, personal, and career domains. We work with students in reference to personal problems that may impact school performance; we work with all academic issues; and we continue the career exploration program.

Ms. Bell and Ms. Rikard are available to help students with supplies, advice, opportunities, and a multitude of other services. Please consider them a valuable resource who will ensure the best possible solutions for you and your child. If you have scheduling concerns, would like to request a parent conference, or simply need advice on your middle school student, please contact the appropriate guidance counselor.
