21st Century After School Program ~~~2nd Quarter Clubs

Johnson Middle School's 21st Century after school program offers a variety of fun and challenging enrichment activities. For the 2010-2011 school year, clubs will be offered for two days each week (Mondays & Wednesdays OR Tuesdays & Thursdays) during each 9 week marking period Each student can join up to 2 clubs per week and work with that advisor for the entire quarter on projects and activities about which they are passionate.

DRUMLINE: The JMS Drumline is stepping off this year under the direction of Mr. Orban! Join the thunder as we groove our way to excellence and show our school spirit in this music based club.

COMMUNITY & SERVICE CLUB: Help out your neighbors here and around the world!! Join the C&S club and research different needs in our local and global community while designing and implementing ways to help.

JEWELRY DESIGN CLUB: Do you like to create things with your hands? Boys and girls can make unique jewelry to keep and wear or give as gifts.

THE ODYSSEY OF THE MIND CLUB: This club will teach you creative problem-solving methods while having fun in the process. Tap into your creativity and imagination.
SEWING CLUB: So you want to Sew….join this club and learn to sew and quilt. Create wonderful quilted and sewn projects that are perfect for gift-giving and community service projects.
SOCCER CLUB: GOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!!! SCOOOOOORE!!!!! Come play soccer and sharpen those kicking skills…

YEARBOOK CLUB: Cherish your middle school memories by helping to create a beautiful keepsake for all students. Application Required – See Dr. Jarrell for more details. (Ad visor approval required)

DANCE CLUB: Dance with the Stars!! Do you want to get your groove on? Grab your friends and sign up to learn different dances from around the world!! Dance styles include salsa, ballroom, modern, jazz, stepping, hip hop, yoga and line dancing.

HISTORY CLUB: Attention future world leaders!! Come out and join the club. We have an exciting year planned.

INTRAMURALS: Are you ready for some exercise?? Join intramurals and get your game on!!! The year starts off with basketball and then stick around to play flag football, indoor soccer, floor hockey, dodge ball, and MUCH, MUCH more!!

MATH OLYMPIAD: J.M.S. Eagles!! Come and challenge your skills in competitive math!!! Build rewarding lifelong strategies that can create success in mathematics and achieving personal goals. (Ad visor approval required)

ORCHESTRA CLUB: Does music make you sing? Join the music club to learn piano, practice your chosen instrument, learn how to strum your guitar, understand music theory, and enhance your vocal skills.

TECHNOLOGY CLUB: Do you think all pictures are real? Join the Technology club and learn real skills about how to make fun and interesting photos. Stick around and check out online dissections and surgeries.
TSA CLUB: Do you like competitions? Building things? Come check out TSA Club. This club has national competitions in over 26 different events. Projects include working on the website, laser engraver, and several other events.
