HOSA contest

Manatee Technical Institute had a very successful experience at the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA. Students representing the MTI Dental Assisting Program, Massage Therapy Program, Optometric Assisting Program, Pharmacy Technician Program, and Surgical Technology Program were recognized on stage as the top ten in the nation for their event categories with nine of them earning 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place medallions as they competed in various categories related to Health Science Education and Leadership. Manatee Technical Institute was also recognized during the opening session as having the largest postsecondary/collegiate HOSA chapter in the nation. MTI advisor Ronai Krugh was awarded the national "Postsecondary/Collegiate HOSA Advisor of the Year" award during the National Recognition Session.
